thank you so much to Siredward for our first review it helped out the site a lot.

i just bought my crf150f less than a week ago and already ive ridden
the piss
out of it.  just to let you know what this little bike is haulin
around.....
im 23 yrs old, im 5'6" and i weigh 150 lbs...ish.  i got the bike to
race in
the supermini class at the local tracks here and to just have fun in
the
backyard with my little bro on his xr100. at first i was a little
disappointed with the low end power.  it doesnt seem to have much
torque at
all when taking off from a stand still. hard to get a wheelie out of
this
thing bone stock. in stock form the crf150 takes a bit to get up to
speed but
has a great mid to top end and the top speed is fast enough to get hurt
pretty bad.  in a 70yd drag race,  crf150f(stock) vs. 2001 xr100(fmf
pipe/k&n
filter) the xr100 pulled out first with its mods, but after the 150 hit
2nd
gear and the revs caught up with the throttle position, the 150
continued to
pull away. it revs pretty high with most of the power seeming to come
on at
the high mid range.  the suspension is just awesome!! and the bike
handles so
well.  ive jumped at least 10-12ft in the air and have yet to bottom
the
shocks.

now to pump up the bike a little, 1st i took out the diffuser  in the
end cap
of the exhaust.  there is a star headed screw in the end cap, take that
out,
and feel the power increase.  now you should be able to pull a wheelie
in 1st
gear pretty easily, and it sounds awesome. youll probly have to rejet
it
after that, i did. then i took out the snorkel from the top of the
airbox.
youll have to remove the seat to do this.   next i bought a UNI air
filter
from BBRmotorsports for $24.  then i went home and cut out the backfire
screen in the airbox (its under the air filter) using a dremel and an
exacto
knife. make sure you removed ALL debris/leftover wire mesh pieces
before
continueing. i blew mine out with the air compressor real good. popped
in the
filter...rejetted the carb, and cranked that sucker up.  it definately
gave
it some more ummph.  now you should be able to wheelie in 2nd gear but
still
with a little effort.  i have a 12 tooth front sprocket on the way from
sprocket specialties. that was $12.99 from them.  so now my crf150 is
ready
to rip up on any ttr-125 and the 80 novice class here at our local
track  and
all for only about $40.

now for the bad stuff.....  the seat is really hard on your nuts, i
plan on
re-foaming it with softer foam, but if you ride standing up alot, your
ok.
im not real impressed with the stock front tire either, although its
made by
a big shot company, and it costs a butt load brand new, it just doesnt
hook
up as much as id like.  and in my opinion the sprocket gearing is too
tall.
mabe for a lighter rider you wont notice, but for me, im gearing it
down.

there has been alot of talk about the interchanging of parts from the
crf230
to the crf150...namely the cylinder/piston/head etc....
this is not possible.... the stroke on the 150 is shorter than the 230,
so if
you were to bolt the 230 cylinder/piston/head onto the stock150 bottom
end,
the piston would not come up all the way and basically you would only
have a
150cc bike with an oversized piston, no compression and a timing chain
that
was too short. however, if you changed the crank in the 150 bottom end
to the
230 crank and used the 230 topend, to include:
cylinder/piston/head/cam/timing chain+sprocket etc....theoretically it
would
work. but good luck getting your hands on those parts right now.
everything
else chassis-wise, tank, plastics, levers, seat etc... will fit both
bikes.

overall this bike has made me a happy camper. like i said before, i was
diappointed at first and thought about taking it back, but the bike
responded
real well to the cheap mods ive done and hopefully once more companies
start
producing more aftermarket parts, ill be able to really roost on this
thing.
my only other future mods are a BBR full exhaust, and the BBR rev box.
i
will keep you updated once i get my sprocket, then someday when i get
more
money the exhaust and rev box.  if youre considering buying this bike
and
youre not conserned about price, id say go for it.  otherwise a TTR-125
is a
pretty good bike as well.  and dont forget about the xr100.  there is
alot of
aftermarket parts out there for this bike to make it go fast.  that is
what i
would have gotten if it had better suspension. dont be fooled by its
size.  i
have been racing my little bro's xr 100 in the 80 class for 3 months
now and
have consistantly finished in the top 3. and for the price a crf150,
you can
get 2 xr 100's.  well thats all i have so ill keep ya posted and if you
have
any questions about the bike?
